Lug tuning
Strike near each lug, hold the steady reading — it records itself and steps to the next lug.

Guide: seating a new head
- Seat the head: finger-tighten all lugs, press the centre with your palm, then tension in the star pattern with 1/2-turn increments.
- Star pattern: always tune opposite lugs (skip pattern above), never tune around the ring.
- Quarter turns: final tuning is done in 1/4-turn (90°) increments — one quarter turn is roughly a semitone on a snare.
- Flagged "Tap again": more than 3 semitones off the median — re-strike that lug.
Kit planner
Pick a reference drum and a tom interval; DrumPitch computes an exact note and Hz for every tom.
